SHEKINAH WASWA ABIGAEL

• I am a Human Nutrition and Dietetics professional with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from Kabarak University, with practical experience in clinical nutrition, community nutrition, public health, and nutrition research. I gained clinical experience at Kenyatta National Hospital across areas including paediatrics, oncology, nephrology, ICU, cardiology, endocrinology, surgery, and maternal health, where I supported nutrition assessment, counselling, therapeutic diet planning, and patient monitoring.
• I also have community nutrition experience from Chandaria Health Centre, supporting MIYCN, growth monitoring, malnutrition screening, nutrition counselling, and community health programmes. My research experience includes work at Kenyatta National Hospital on malnutrition among children with burn injuries.
• My professional interests include public health nutrition, maternal and child nutrition, food security, nutrition research, and sustainable food systems, with a particular interest in using nutrition interventions to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable communities.
